We the people
Some people
insist on attempting short cuts
and they shove their way
to the front
faking themselves as leaders
when they are only bushwhacking
unknowingly off the path
and into the wilderness
of chaos
Because their wild antics
and fussy fits
take our eyes off our destination
We ain’t so much following
as We are heavily distracted
and all this nonsense
risks us all
just to reward
a sordid corrupt compassionless few
What
oh what
are We to do?
Where is the
renaissance
where Everyone
has meaning
someplace to belong
and everyone
has someone
and their basic needs
are met
where those who suffer misfortune
are not abandoned
and left alone
and given no compassion
And those who deliver compassion
are afforded a living wage
doing those jobs that are unprofitable
though necessary for all
What
oh what
can We do?
Fat cats don’t provide you any value
your hard work no longer rewards you
our communities struggle
as our society crumbles
forcing matters into our own hands
Why do those
who have it all need more
when those who have little are left to drown
what should We do
when it all goes wrong
what are We to do when it all goes wrong
when what do We do
becomes
what can We do?
This is what We do:
We act
We politely but firmly resist
We appeal to our substantial majority
in numbers so undeniable that
it will be clear there is no alternative
but to yield to enhance democracy that best
represents We the people
We politely but firmly remind
them that We are the torch bearers
from 250 years ago
who remind them what they learned in
grade school
We politely but firmly insist
that We do in fact have a right to exist
and We won't be negotiating
that which is inalienable
We will not yield our life
or our liberty
or our pursuit of happiness
That's a PERIOD.
That's what We will do
